Step by step

  3. Choose: Extract pages. Inspect the result before copying, downloading or using it elsewhere.
  4. Choose a PDF and enter the page numbers or ranges you want to keep. Check the selected count, extract, then inspect the downloaded PDF.

Choosing the settings

Extract pagesThis version creates one PDF for each selection, not a ZIP of individual pages. Change the selection and extract again for another document. Overlapping ranges and repeated pages are rejected to prevent accidental duplicates.

Example and expected result

For a document with at least seven pages, 7, 1-3 produces four pages in the order 7, 1, 2, 3. Use the file’s page positions starting at 1, not printed labels such as i, ii or Appendix A.

If it is not working

  • Use ordinary, unlocked PDFs. Damaged files, password protection and interactive forms are not supported. Export a flattened copy of a form first. This tool does not preserve document bookmarks, attachments, signatures or original metadata. Links between pages may not work after extraction.
  • A complex PDF may require more memory than its file size suggests. Processing stops after two minutes. Cancel and choose a smaller file if needed. This tool does not scan PDFs for malicious content.
  • Use the file’s page positions starting at 1, not the page labels printed on the document. Check the selection against the reported page count before running; an out-of-range page needs a corrected selection, not another retry of the same input.
  • If a PDF fails, reopen the original in a PDF viewer first. Use an unlocked copy for operations that reject encryption, and a flattened copy where forms are unsupported. Cancel a stalled job and try a smaller document; keep the original.
